يعتبر قطاع البناء والتشييد من القطاعات المهمة في الإقتصاد لتوفير قاعدة بيانات اساسية لراسمي السياسات ومتخذي القرارات لوضع الخطط الكفيله للتخطيط والتطوير .		Building and construction sector played an important role in providing baseline data for policy-makers and decision makers to develop plans to ensure the planning and development.
ويوفر قطاع البناء والتشييد مؤشرات مهمة لأحتساب مؤشرات الحسابات القومية ولتقدير الناتج المحلي الاجمالي وحسابات تكوين رأس المال ، ولكي نتمكن من تنفيذ المشاريع المستقبلية التي يحتاجها البلد في المرحلة الراهنة لابد من التعرف على احصاءات  أسعار المواد الانشائية وأجور العاملين، وحجم المشاريع المنفذه في القطاع العام والقطاع الخاص وكلفتها وغيرها من المؤشرات المهمة التي تساهم في تطوير قطاع البناء والتشييد في العراق.		It provides indicators for the national accounts indicators estimate the GDP  accounts capital formation, and to be able to implement projects  in future, and  to get the statistics of prices of the construction materials and wages of workers , the size of projects in the public sector and private sector,  cost and other important indicators that contribute to  develope constructions sector in Iraq.
