Held the first expanded conference among the higher commission of census members and the governors

The Higher Commission of Census held within the framework of preparations for implementation the general census of population and housing in Iraq for the year of 2009, its first conference under the patronage of the Minister of Planning and Development Cooperation Mr. Ali G. Baban and attended by governors and the heads of provincial councils and heads of sectors, the central supervisors and the managers of statistics in the governorates, in the beginning of the conference, The Minister's made a speech stressed on the importance of the census implementation and the need to mobilize efforts and capacities in all of the governorates to success this great national entitlement which will provide a broad data base in Iraq that will help plan makers and decisions users for making the right transition policies that will assist for raising development in Iraq, also the detailed plan of the General Population Census and the pilot census plan, had been presented during the meeting as well as the organizational structure and administrative units division of the governorates.
