COSIT implemented the pre-test experience of Population Census

 During five days cadres of the Central Organization for Statistics and Information Technology carried out the pre-test experiment to test the forms of counting and numbering then preparing their statements through used of geographical maps... An official source at COSIT mentioned that the activity comes within the framework of the ongoing preparations for the implementation of the general census of population in October of this year 2009, It’s a small test prior to the experimental census which be held during the month of next May in six selected areas in different locations of Iraq.
 
The source pointed out that two areas have been identified, one urban and the other rural in Baghdad to carry out this test which was represented in two phases, So in the first phase, the operation of numbered buildings and limitation of the population in the two selected locations have been implemented during three days. While during the second phase the counting of the population operation has been done… then the source pointed out that the task teams, consisting of field assistants and researchers included more than (120) assistants and researchers, also the source said further, that a training course held at the headquarters of COSIT, through it the participants received instruction in the work of auditing office of counting and numbering forms in order to enable the employees (assistants) who are working in audit office to meet properly the data of census form.
