(96%) of Iraq total
exports go to Arab countries in the forefront Syria, Jordan and the UAE
Central Organization for Statistics and Information Technology
The Central
Organization for Statistics and Information Technology in the Ministry of
Planning and Development Cooperation declared that total exports of Iraq in 2007 from
crude oil and petroleum products and other commodity materials amount (41268)
million dollars, equivalent to (52286433) million Iraqi dinars, by annual
increasing amount (40.6%) comparing with 2006 that recorded (29361) million
dollars, equivalent to (43072411) million Iraqi dinars.
The release issued by publication and public relations directorate in the
Central Organization for Statistics clarified that the value of Iraqi crude oil
exports rose by (38.2%) during 2007, when it reached (39531) million dollars,
equivalent to (50085321) million Iraqi dinars after it was (28610) million
dollars, equivalent to (41970811) million Iraqi dinars in 2006.
The release pointed out that the value of petroleum products for fuel oil has
increased by (181.7%) from the level that recorded in 2006, when total value of
these exports reached (1565) million dollars, equivalent to (1982728) million
Iraqi dinars, while it was (556) million dollars, equivalent to (814933) million
Iraqi dinars in 2006.
The value of commodity exports - according to the release - reached (172)
million dollars, equivalent to (218384) million Iraqi dinars by annual increase
amounts (7.5%) comparing with 2006 which reached (160) million dollars,
equivalent to (235160) million Iraqi dinars .. The release pointed out to
improve the exchange rate of Iraqi dinar led to decline the value of exports by
Iraqi dinar by (7%) as in the year of 2006.
The release also declared that the Arab States Group formed the highest rate of
increase from total Iraqi commodity exports except crude oil and petroleum
products, which increased to (96.1)
Syria has occupied first place in the list of these states, by rate of (31.1%),
followed by Jordan (27.9%) then United Arab Emirates by (20.2%)... While highest
rate of exports to foreign countries was Switzerland by (3.6%) of total
commodity exports except crude oil and petroleum products.
