After releasing its results in Baghdad ...
Amman is witnessing the celebration of releasing the Results of Iraq Household socio-economic survey

The Jordanian capital Amman witnessed in January, 25th 2009 the celebration of releasing the results of Iraq household socio-economic survey, which was carried out by the Central Organization for Statistics in the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation and Kurdistan Region Statistics Organization through a technical and organizational partnership with the World Bank, during a full year.
At the beginning of the celebration, which attended by a large number of representatives of international organizations in Jordan, the team of the World Bank, the Arab Institute for Training and Statistical Research and chairmen of both Statistics Organizations the Egyptian and Jordanian... Dr. Mahdi Al-Alak Under the Ministry of Planning Ministry's make a speech stressed within on the importance of the survey results as it is represented the first stage in the poverty reduction strategy in Iraq, which prepared by the Ministry of Planning… pointed out that the achievement of statistical and methodological data is the result of a technical partnership between the Iraqi government and the World Bank and other important steps will be carried out consecutively in the framework of this strategy.
 
For his part, Mr. Hadi Al-Arabi, Director of the Arab Middle East Office in the World Bank Group, in his speech during the celebration, that the survey provides a comprehensive database can be used by governmental institutions, researches centers and academic circles to better understand for the extent of poverty in Iraq, its geographical distribution and its factors, and clarified that the results of the survey will enable the Iraqi government to draw a scientific policy to improve the living conditions of Iraqis.
 
The Supreme Committee speech for draft of the poverty reduction strategy in Iraq, delivered by Dr. Mehdi Al-Alak Chairman of the Committee, describing the stages of the implementation of the survey and the next steps... then he Praised for the support of the World Bank for this important strategic project.
The representative of the Kurdistan region, Dr. Jamal Amin, head of Kurdistan Region Statistics Organization delivered a speech in which he praised the cooperation and high-level coordination between the region and the Ministry of Planning and the World Bank in all phases of the survey... and Express his optimism and desire to strengthen this cooperation for the completion of many projects which have positive effect on the lives of all Iraqis.
    
After that the celebration witnessed a presentation of the methodology that the survey has been implemented on its basis, by Dr. Mehdi Al-Alak... Ms. Najla Ali Murad, director of field work for the project also presented a detailed presentation of the Results of Iraq Household socio-economic survey, which included many indicators and data on household life in all domains.

At the end of the celebration the Under-Ministry of Planning Dr. Mehdi Al-Alak delivered books of thanks and gifts from His Excellency the Minister of planning to the World Bank experts involved in the project.
 
Worth mentioning, the Ministry of Planning and Development Cooperation was celebrated for the releasing of the Results of Iraq Household socio-economic survey in Baghdad in 12th of January, 2009. The celebration was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Planning, a number of Ministers, members of the chamber of deputies, advisers of the Prime Minister, the deputy ministers, representatives of international organizations operating in Iraq, civil society organizations, university professors and a large number of interested people.
